Description

Are you frustrated with the slow steps Governments take to create services that citizens actually need? Help us reach a community of citizens, experts, developers and civil servants that want to help change this, in policy and in practice.

The European project Clarity seeks to support European Member States in their pursuit for greater trust, transparency and efficiency within government via the increased take-up of open government initiatives. Clarity will mobilise a multidisciplinary network of stakeholders support the growth on innovative solutions for open government in Europe.

As an intern you will be responsible to find and engage a network of stakeholders involved with Open eGovernment in Europe. Specifically on the local municipal level we want to find designers, coders and policy makers that are championing the creation and use of services citizens actually need. We investigate and promore new ways to influence the policy making proces, like participatory budgetting, citizen science and other forms of eDemocracy.

As part of the EU project we offer you insight into the eGovernment network in Europe. You get to work with our partners (listed below) and be part of international meetings (in Sweden and Spain).

A big part of your work will be finding people in Europe working in the field of Open eGovernment, mapping them in a contact list and sharing information with them on the project through newsletters and blogs.

We also ask you to be flexible and help out in different project where ever it might be need, for instance supporting workshops in our Fablab or helping the team out at events.

What do we offer?
We offer a three to ten months internship (time period is negotiable), in which you will work between 24 to 40 hours per week. You will join our team at Waag Society, institute for art, science and technology, an independent media lab, that develops creative technology for social innovation. The foundation researches, develops concepts, pilots and prototypes and acts as an intermediate between the arts, science and the media.

Interns receive a stipend of 300 euro a month (based on a 40 hour per week contract). Applications, with your motivation and resume, can be send to our HR department. More information about this internship can be obtained from Ivonne Janssen-Dings.
