Internship Production Assistant
- Regular internship
Do you want to be part of an organization, full of audiovisual art, digital culture and media? Are you looking for a working environment that challenges you, offers a variety of experiences and gives you a look behind the scenes of a cultural organisation? Apply for an internship at Impakt!
The general logistics of the festival involves all logistics that cannot be linked directly to one of the specific programs. Thus, you will be responsible for the furnishing of the festival. Just like any other festival, Impakt wants to make the guest location its own territory, with an atmosphere that reflects the character of the festival. For this purpose, flags, banners and complete new interiors are used. As a trainee in general logistics, you will be involved in their design and realisation.
You are involved in:
•coordinating and establishing the festival desk, the multimedia centre, the bar, etc.;
•applying for licences;
•drawing up instructions for the booking office and the like;
•having the tickets and passe-partouts designed.
Duration and compensation
Starting immediately through November 2017, (consultation on duration and available hours is possible). Due to different deadlines and the nature of the organization, flexible working hours are used. Impact does not provide compensation, but travel expenses are reimbursed and lunch is provided. Of course you will have access to the festival, work with nice colleagues and gain valuable experience for your resume.
The Impakt Organization was founded in 1988. We present critical and creative views on contemporary media culture and innovative audiovisual arts, in an interdisciplinary context. Our aim is to identify emerging paradigms in transglobal culture, by focusing on the triangular relationship between society, media and arts. To this end, Impakt organizes the annual Impakt Festival each autumn, featuring exhibitions, screenings, video art, lectures and music. Next to this, Impakt is a year-round operation based in Utrecht, where we run an artists’ residency program and events.
The theme of the Impakt Festival 2017 is Haunted Machines and Wicked Problems. Curators Natalie Kane and Tobias Revell will investigate the relationship between technology, mythology and magic.
Impakt is located in a characteristic and spacious building in Utrecht. In addition to the office, this property also offers accommodation for 2 residency studios, an archive and an event space. The core of Impakt is a small hard-working team of 2 fte. In the run-up to the festival the occupation grows to 5 fte. Internships form an essential part of the organization and many volunteers participate in the festival.
For all internships at Impakt you need to:
•have excellent communicative skills;
•be motivated, eager and willing to expand your capacities;
•have an independent and active working attitude;
•be flexible and you can handle changes well
